The Wylie East girls basketball team has continued their run of dominance.
With one win separating them from a District 10-5A title outright, they battled away and came out on top in double overtime to win 68-60 over McKinney North on Feb. 2.
McKinney North, who would have tied Wylie East with a win, played with high intensity in a game that was showed physical play from both teams throughout. The Lady Raiders, showed their strength early, opening the first quarter with a 17-9 lead behind eight points inside from freshman LeAire Nicks. The young center has been key to Wylie East’s depth all season long and ended the game as one of the three Lady Raiders in double figures with 16 points.
