Pirate soccer enters the week on the hunt for District 10-6A victories.
They opened district one week ago, Jan. 25, with a 1-0 loss at Sachse. The Mustangs scored on a Melvin Calderon penalty kick during the first half.
Wylie (6-2-1, 0-1 in district as of Monday, Jan. 28) started this week in 10-6A on Tuesday, Jan. 29 with Garland.
That match is followed by 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 versus Lakeview Centennial at Homer B. Johnson Stadium in Garland.
Games left in the first round are at with Rowlett (Feb. 5), at Naaman Forest (Feb. 8), with North Garland (Feb. 12) and at South Garland (Feb. 15 at HBJ).
Games will start at 7:30 p.m., with home contests being played at Wylie ISD Stadium.
Subvarsity report
The junior varsity were defeated 1-0 at Sachse in the 10-6A opener.
