WYLIE — What’s done is done, and the key is to put it behind you and focus on the future.

The Wylie Pirates must do just that after last Friday’s 49-0 regular-season finale loss at Allen to the District 6-6A champion Eagles. That’s because the Pirates (5-5 overall and 4-3) in 6-6A have a tough task ahead of them: District 5-6A champ Southlake Carroll at Dragon Stadium.

That’s the Class 6A, Region I, Div. II bi-district matchup, one that’ll require Wylie to travel some to Carroll’s home field. However, it won’t be an unfamiliar trip, considering the Pirates took it a few years, and came back with a playoff victory following a chilly encounter with Mansfield Summit.
