Last minute school supply shoppers need not worry this year. The Wylie school district  PTA will be there to pick up the slack.

This year, school supplies for K-4, can purchase their school supply packs at Meet the Teacher events being held at each campus.

“We are trying to make the process of purchasing school supply packs more streamlined,” said Desiree White, PTA council school supply coordinator. “We want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to purchase a school supply pack.”

In past years, school supply packs were available for preorder and only in the spring. With the new purchase arrangement, packs will be available to new enrollees and incoming kindergarten families that were not made aware of the presale.

White said the council has made their best effort in calculating the amount of packs that will be needed for the sale.

“If a campus runs out, that campus will notify me and we will make accommodations for that student to receive their pack,” she said. “There are no guarantees the pack will arrive by the first day of school but they will come shortly after.”

The school supplies for each school are generated by a list prepared by the schools principal. There are boy, girl and generic packs available. Cost is based on that schools supplies. Each school is priced accordingly for the supplies required. For prices, interested parties can contact their school for further information.
