“Newsies” nominated for awards

Wylie High School’s drama department is in the running for prestigious awards.

They received several nominations from the Schmidt and Jones High School Musical Awards for their performance of the musical “Newsies.”

Nominations include: Best Show; Best Orchestra; Best Choreography – Maddie Quiroga and Julia Hodges; Best Scenic Design – Wendy Wu; Best Lighting Design – Karan Gosai; Best Male Ensemble Member – Lawton Grun; Best Female Ensemble Member – Tracy Vu and Uzo Ogbanute; Best Actor in a Minor Role – Cade Sturgeon, Mason Bowling and Matthew Cox; Best Supporting Actor – Kole Dornseifer; Best Actor – Abraham Mendez.
