A father’s life was saved last summer thanks to the quick thinking and calm demeanor of his daughter. Madison Conner, a student at Draper Intermediate.

Chris Conner, Madison’s dad, has type 1 diabetes. One day, he began having a seizure, and Madison quickly followed the steps her parents had taught her since she was young.

First, she quickly called 911 and then gave her father sugar to help him through the seizure. She told the 911 operator what was happening, their address and even what car was in the driveway.

“We have worked with her since she was a little girl on what to do in case her daddy has a seizure,” Merrill Conner, Madison’s mother, said. “And she did just that.”
