Wylie ISD recently received news that the district will once again receive the TASBO Award of Merit for Purchasing and Operations.

Award applicants are reviewed for various procedures and practices including: organization, policies and procedures, contract operations, and staff training and certification. Plus, where applicable, they are reviewed for p-card systems and warehousing.

The award is provided to school districts and Education Service Centers statewide that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services.

“This award demonstrates the district’s commitment to financial responsibility,” Wylie ISD CFO Michelle Trongaard said. “Much of the credit goes to Darci Hooten, Purchasing Manager, and her staff Kellee Stemac, Rachel Saldivar and Heidi Smith. We are very pleased to receive this award for the 5th year in a row.”
