Watkins Elementary will receive security and technology changes to its infrastructure this year. The school, just four years old, will see the same security measures being implemented at their campus as other schools throughout the district.

“As one of our newer campuses, Watkins is getting some safety and security upgrades as well as several technology upgrades,” Communications director Ian Halperin said. “This includes an electronic door entry system, additional wireless access points, network and switch upgrades and new digital marquee. They are also getting a portable sound system for the choir room.”

Under the direction of Gallagher Construction, the new badge system will be installed over the summer.

Projects are estimated for completion in September.

In May 2016, new LED parking lot lighting will be installed as well as updated digital signage. Projects estimated completion is September 2016.
