A new principal will greet Sewell Elementary students in Sachse this fall. Kim Marsh was picked to lead the elementary, bringing years of experience in administration and as a teacher.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity,” she said. “I have talked to so many parents, faculty and community members in such a short time.”

Marsh said, from her conversations, she has learned that the community wants the campus to be successful. She believes the pieces are there and is committed to working to give the parents and students of Sewell the school they deserve.

“Although academics are first and foremost, there is so much more to school, including building learning skills, relationships and much more,” she said. “I hope to work with the faculty here to bring a new life to this wonderful campus.”

Marsh received her education degree from the University of San Antonio, her master’s from Lamar University and she is currently working on her doctorate in teaching leadership at Southwestern.

Prior to her new role at Sewell she was the assistant principal at Northlake Elementary. Prior to that she taught at Weaver Elementary in Garland and in South Oak Cliff. Her teaching career spans 13 years.

Marsh lives in Murphy with her husband, Jeff, and three children, Delaney, Cooper and Cason.

“My husband and I have a great relationship with our kids,” she said. “But the truth is, on many days they are at school more than they are home. I plan to partner with Sewell parents to insure that their children thrive here.”
