Plano Independent School District has announced their policy for free and reduced-price meals to students served under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.

A student’s eligibility for free or reduced-price meal benefits is determined by the following criteria: income, household income that is at or below the income eligibility levels; categorical or automatic eligibility, households receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations; a program participant, student’s status as a foster child (legal responsibility of the state), homeless, runaway, migrant or displaced by a declared disaster; and a student’s enrollment in Head Start.

A copy of the policy can be found at each campus and at the central office. Applications may be submitted anytime during the school year. The information households provide on the application will be used for the purpose of determining eligibility and verification of data. Applications may be verified by school officials at any time during the school year.

Online applications provide information on availability and qualifications for the program.

Applications can be found online at fans.pisd.edu/fma to apply online.
