The 16 Birmingham Scholars of 2016 in Wylie Independent School District were honored at a banquet Tuesday, May 10.

Birmingham Scholars must be ranked in the top 10 percent of the graduating senior classes at Wylie High School and Wylie East High School, have good moral character, received all their high school credits in Wylie and have received scores from the ACT and SAT examinations.

The awards go to the top eight students from each high school that meet the guidelines.
