Where does one go after reaching the mountaintop?
That’s the situation facing the state champion Lady Raiders, who return to the field nearly nine months after beating Austin Vandegrift 1-0 in the Class 5A title game in Georgetown.
“I don’t think you can always say you’re going to make it to the state championship, because that takes a great journey and a year of success, the stars aligning and everything is perfect for you,” head coach Kody Christensen said. “I do feel like we have a team that can compete. I do feel we have a team that is going to present some challenges for other programs. I think we have a good core group coming back with a lot of experience.”
