WYLIE — The Raiders rule the roost, at least for this week.

That became a fact last Friday at Wylie Stadium, when the Raiders battled Lovejoy for first place in District 10-5A. After nearly three hours of competition, it was East that walked off the field with a 42-28 victory.

That triumph — it was the Raiders’ first-ever win over Lovejoy — improved East’s record to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in District 10-5A, one game ahead of the Leopards and two ahead of several opponents, including Wylie, which are 2-2 in the standings. The Raiders will resume action Thursday, Oct. 22 at McKinney.

In other 10-5A action last week, Prosper defeated Wylie 48-27, while McKinney North defeated McKinney 52-21 and Denison downed Sherman 41-14.
