About 200 new teachers and administrators are to be welcomed to Wylie Independent School District at a luncheon slated for Thursday, Aug. 13.

The teachers and administrators join the district for the 2015-16 school term.

The New Teachers Luncheon is jointly hosted by Wylie ISD and Wylie Chamber of Commerce and starts at 11:30 a.m. Location of the annual event is Wylie East High School, 3000 Wylie East Dr.

Event sponsors are Baylor Medical Center at Garland, Isagenix – Pamela Bell, Wylie Insurance Agency, Inc., Farmers Insurance – Rebecca Dillow Agency and FRD Energy Services LLC

Luncheon and door prize sponsors are being sought. Cost to sponsor a teacher’s lunch is $15. Cost to attend the luncheon representing a Wylie business is also $15.

For each teacher lunch sponsored, a card will be placed a table recognizing the sponsoring business. Anyone sponsoring a lunch, donating a door prize, or providing items for welcome bags will be listed on the luncheon program. Donated door prizes must be delivered to the chamber office no later than Friday, Aug. 7.

Chamber of commerce members can reserve small booths for the event, however space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Booth setup is from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. and participants must have a representative on site to personally distribute items.
