Salute to Heroes Memorial Day

The 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe will be featured at the sixth annual Salute to Heroes in Olde City Park May 25.

The salute is a Memorial Day partnership between American Legion Hale-Combest Post 315 and the city of Wylie.

A half-staff flag ceremony is slated for 7:45 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast at East Fork Masonic Lodge from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

World War II veterans will be recognized at a program from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the park. Families that wish to participate in the ceremony should contact Chuck Flesch, 214-458-9753.
