Erin Perkins will return to Watkins Elementary as their new assistant principal this fall.

The former Watkins employee left her teaching role in 2014 for a position as the Elementary Math and Science Learning Specialist until her promotion to AP.

Her experience of working with both students and teachers in multiple grade levels, she believes, will be an asset in her new position.

“My goal for next year is to build strong relationships with all those involved on our campus,” she said. “I hope to work together to help every child achieve great things by instilling in them the values that it takes to get there.”

The new leader has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin.

“I feel that I can help meet the needs of all the students on our campus,” she said. “I am excited about the responsibility of making sure that each and every one of them experiences academic growth.”

Perkins lives in Wylie with her husband Stephen and two children, Taylor and Addy.
