Wylie Independent School District senior students, after seeing their last year in public school turned upside down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, take part in outdoor commencement exercises this week at Wylie Stadium.
Graduating first are Achieve Academy students at 8 p.m. Friday, June 5. Wylie East High School commencement is at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 6, and Wylie High School commencement is at 8 p.m. Saturday.
COVID-19 interrupted the school year in March, when instead of students returning to classes after spring break, schools were closed for the remainder of the year as classes were converted to off-site, virtual learning.
