Police seek leads in attempted robbery

Wylie police are seeking information in an attempted armed robbery that occurred the evening of Sunday, Feb. 10, in the area of Topaz Circle and Sapphire Drive.

Officers received a call about 7:40 p.m. that an attempt to rob an 18-year-old male was made as he was attempting to buy a gaming system from someone he met on a social media site, Sgt. Donald English reported.

As the victim was speaking with the seller, the two were approached by an unknown Hispanic male who demanded money and indicated that he had a weapon, the sergeant continues.
