About five years ago, Pat Payton got fully involved in metal artwork. Now, he’s combining that with another love, sports, to create a memorabilia facility where people can purchase metal-based items related to athletics.

“You take artwork, and I actually embed it in metal,” said Payton, who owns METALbilia on Jackson Street in Wylie. “It lasts longer that way … With my artwork, it’s progressed to where I am putting out metal images in the metal for autographs for the sports industry. For four years, I have done it for the Comic-Con (comics) industry, and now I’m switching over. Not only am I doing the (comic) but the sports industry, too.”

Working out of small building, Payton has put together a wide collection of items for sale, including athlete photos on metal, as well as other items, such as guitar picks with artwork, bracelets and key chains with artwork and metal trading cards featuring Dallas Cowboys’ stars Dak Prescott and Ezekial Elliott.
