The Wylie Downtown Merchants Association presented a $1,000 check to the Wylie/Sachse/Murphy Area Special Olympics last week. The funds were raised at the merchants’ Wylie 500 Pedal Race Races held May 1. Pictured, front l-r, Lynn Grimes, Special Olympian Wilson Izker, Special Olympian Cole Wells, Coach Marty Smith, Mike Carroll, Pam Wells and MAK; back l-r, Alice Stewart, Bobby Heath, Danny Wells and WDMA Secretary Janice Martz. WDMA has donated $12,000 over the 12 years the race has been held.
