A new event to help educate students and families on various cultures found throughout the world will come to Wylie,

On Friday, April 22, the Wylie ISD Council of PTAs will host their first ever “World of Wylie” event.

The event will allow 5th and 6th grade students an opportunity to showcase a country or culture of their choice.

The event will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Wylie Education Service Center and is free to all.

The program is strictly voluntary and does not count as a grade. It is open to individual or small groups up to four students.

Suggestions for ways to participate include bringing a food item; musical instrument; wearing traditional garments or clothing; flags; a mini-movie of the area and/or people; a recorded interview; a website created by an individual of small group; sharing customs or creating a display board.
