82, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 29, 2025, after courageously fighting multiple system atrophy (MSA-P).
She was born Jan. 19, 1943, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and grew up in Karns, Tennessee. On Aug. 22, 1964, she married David “Dave” Vernon Dryden, and together they built a loving home devoted to faith, family and service. They moved to Dallas in 1967 and were blessed with two children.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved God first and poured her life into her family. She enjoyed music, crafts, puzzles, sewing, cooking and gardening, and she faithfully served alongside Dave in ministry, including helping start Christ Community Church in Wylie and Wylie Christian Academy. She was known for her hospitality, generosity and strong faith.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Carol Lynn Dryden Bush, and husband, Derral; son, David Scott Dryden, and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Kaitlynn Danae Bush, David Bailey Dryden (Emily), Shea Lianne Bush Poole (Tyler), Ava Carol Dryden and Delaina Nicole Bush; sister, Maurine Barger Psemeneki; and nieces Tiffany and Stacy. She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Jack” and Edith Gertrude Barger, and brother-in-law, Harry Psemeneki.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship Church, 507 Thomas St., Wylie.
