 Danny “Dan” Floyd Rainey of Heath, TX, passed from this life into eternity on March 19, 2025, at his home in Heath, TX. He was born on April 4, 1950, in Pittsburg, TX, to the late Floyd and Jewell Rainey. He was married to Marcia G. Rainey on June 5, 2021. If there was one thing you ever needed to know about Dan, it would be that Dan loved Jesus and loved to tell others about Jesus. 

Dan is survived by his wife of almost 4 years, Marcia G. Rainey of Heath, TX. He is also survived by his children: Shawnna and husband David Helmberger of Sachse, TX; Shelley and husband Keith Brooks of Cypress, TX; Daniel and wife Dawn Rainey of Royse City, TX, and Kevin and wife Holly Rainey of Broken Arrow, OK. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Hunter Meek and wife Mindy of Josephine, TX; Saige and Ty Rainey of Royse City, TX; Hope and Micah Rainey of Broken Arrow, OK; Emma, Murphy, and Yoseph Brooks of Cypress, TX; and Zinash Brooks and husband Xavier Iyeyemi of Stafford, TX; and great grandchildren, Lainey Meek and Kinley Jones from Josephine, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Jewell Rainey; his 3 siblings: Jerry, Patricia and Virginia; his wife of 43 years, JoAnn Rainey, and a host of cousins and friends. 

Dan started his career with AT&T for the first part of his adult life. He then worked with Allen Funeral Home and finished out his working career for the last 18 years with MarketPlace Chaplains. Dan served the Wylie community for over 28 years as Police Chaplain, one of his favorite things to ever be involved in. Dan earned a Doctor of Theology degree from Slidell Baptist Seminary in Slidell, LA. Dan absolutely loved serving as Security lead for his church. 

Dan was a well-known and beloved figure in the community. Whether it be teaching at church, firearm training or just spending time with those he loved, he always made time and treated everyone with love and respect. 

Visitation was Tuesday March 25, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie, TX.

Funeral Services were held on March 26, 2025, 10:00 AM at The Cross Church in Wylie, TX. Interment was led with a full police escort to his final resting place at The Heath Cemetery in Heath, TX.
