Wylie police are investigating a Sept. 8 incident in which a 16-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.

Police responded to a call at about 12:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Park Blvd. in reference to a shooting and discovered the juvenile victim. The juvenile received treatment by Wylie Fire-Rescue.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was to meet someone he met on social media at the Parc at Wylie apartment complex and while there two unknown males approached him, WPD spokesman Sgt. Donald English said.

The 16-year-old was allegedly struck by one of the suspects and the second fired a weapon at him, English reported.

The victim was able to drive out of the complex where police located him. Detectives were called to assist in the investigation.

English requests that anyone with information regarding the incident contact the police department at 972-442-8171.
