Collin County Office of Elections last week previewed new voting equipment to provide enhanced voting security and replace a system that is more than 12 years old.
A public preview was held Thursday, Jan. 24, and a second session was held Saturday, Jan. 26 for Collin County League of Women Voters. County commissioners were scheduled to vote early this week on purchasing the equipment.
The Express Vote system manufactured by Election Systems and Software is a hybrid that combines touchscreen and paper ballot voting.
“There is a lot of fear and distrust in electronic voting,” ES&S sales director Chris Moody said.
