Local spring storm warning include Nixel alerts, sirens

With the arrival of spring also comes some turbulent weather and the city of Wylie follows a set protocol for sounding its emergency sirens that coordinates with nearby cities.

The decision to activate sirens can be made by emergency dispatchers, fire and police officers, or emergency management personnel.

“We have quite a few people who are watching the situation,” Emergency Management Coordinator Debbie Buccino said.
