Honorary policeman loses lifelong battle

Funeral services were held last week for Honorary Wylie Policeman Xander Thomas Wade, 8, who died Monday, Sept. 5, after battling lifelong medical problems.

As a mark of honor and respect for the young officer, Wylie Police maintained a 24-hour watch over him until the funeral Thursday, Sept. 8. Xander was sworn in as an honorary member of Wylie Police Department this summer.
