Wylie East’s boys improved to 3-4 in the District 10-5A standings with a 55-46 victory Friday over Wylie, which fell to 5-2. The Pirates are tied with McKinney North and McKinney (all 5-2) for second through fourth, while East is fifth. Prosper (6-1) led the district after Friday’s action.
Earlier in the evening, Wylie’s Lady Pirates kept themselves in the playoff race (3-6) by downing Wylie East 31-26. That loss dropped the Lady Raiders to 4-4 in the 10-5A standings. Wylie East remained in fifth place following the loss, while the Lady Pirates are in sixth. Lovejoy is fourth at 5-4, with Prosper and McKinney North tied for first at 8-1, and McKinney in third at 6-3.

All four Wylie ISD teams lost Tuesday night, with the Pirates dropping their first 10-5A game of the season, 64-48 to McKinney. That left them tied with Prosper and McKinney North, all 5-1, in the district standings.
The Lady Pirates are 2-6 in 10-5A competition after falling 46-38 to McKinney, while both Wylie East teams lost to McKinney North; the boys (2-4) fell 64-48 and the girls (4-4) dropped a 48-43 decision.
Wylie and Wylie East’s teams will meet Friday evening at Wylie East.
