Senior first baseman Ava Cook shared Co-Offensive Player of the Year with Garland sophomore Payton Dean. Cook had another big year at the plate for the Pirates, finishing with a .465 batting average with 14 home runs, 46 hits, 63 runs scored, 36 RBIs, 21 stolen bases and struck out just 10 times in 125 plate appearances.

Heather Damron was named the Coach of the Year.

Senior shortstop, junior left fielder Carlee Castaneda, senior center fielder Julia Barta and sophomore pitcher/second baseman Angel Wright cracked the first team. Junior third baseman Emma Cook and junior second baseman Gracie Gragert landed on the second team. Sophomore catcher Katelyn Ashenfelter and junior utility Mia Gamez were placed on the honorable-mention team.

Ashenfelter, Barta, Ava Cook, Emma Cook, Neville, Wright and senior Katherine Sharp earned recognition on the academic all-district team.

Wylie East had five players earn their way onto the prestigious all-district team.

Junior shortstop Gabriella Flores and senior catcher Jayleigh Dressler landed on the first team. Junior pitchers Grace Maddux and Kinley Kovar were placed on the second team. Freshman left fielder Haley Perez landed on the honorable-mention team.

Dressler, Flores, Maddux, Perez, sophomores Alexandra Brownlee and Dalila Guzman, and freshmen Ryan Collins and Amaya Scott were honored for their work in the classroom, with all eight having been named to the academic all-district team.

They helped lead the Raiders to a 16-14 overall record and a 10-6 mark in district competition.
