The camaraderie and the symbolism of the event are the motivators for Wylie Fire-Rescue firefighter Randall Barber to tackle the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb three times in three cities in a little more than a week.

Barber will climb a total of 330 flights of stairs while wearing his full protective gear to honor the 343 firefighters, 70 law enforcement officers and nine emergency medical technicians who died trying to save lives when terrorists flew a pair of airliners into the World Trade Center towers in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.
