Wylie City Council approved multiple development-related items and zoning changes during its first meeting of the year Tuesday, Jan. 13, including residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the city.
Following the several Shining the Wylie Way recognitions, council unanimously approved the consent agenda.
Council then considered awarding Contract W2026-02 for city engineering firm plan review services to Cobb Fendley in an estimated amount of $150,000. The item had previously appeared on the agenda for the Dec. 13 meeting but was tabled.
Tommy Weir, public works director for the City of Wylie, presented the item, explaining the civil engineering firm has provided services for multiple cities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and has received favorable reviews. Weir described the firm’s work as “thorough” and “top-notch.”
