Wylie ISD students posted gains in four of five end-of-course State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exams this spring, with at least 88% of students meeting grade-level standards in every tested subject and as many as 98% doing so in Biology.
Results released by the Texas Education Agency show districtwide scores improved in Algebra I, Biology, English I and English II compared with 2025. U.S. History dipped 1 percentage point but still recorded a 97% rate of students meeting grade level.
Districtwide, Algebra I scores increased 3 percentage points to 96%, Biology rose 1 point to 98%, English I improved 2 points to 88% and English II increased 1 point to 88%.
At Wylie High School, Algebra I scores improved 3 points to 94%. English I remained unchanged at 88%, while English II slipped 1 point to 89%. Biology and U.S. History each declined 1 point but still posted 97% of students meeting grade-level standards.
Wylie East High School recorded gains in every tested subject except U.S. History. English I and English II each improved 4 percentage points to 88%, Algebra I rose 4 points to 93% and Biology increased 1 point to 98%. U.S. History dipped 1 point to 97%.
At WISD Achieve Academy, all students taking Biology met grade-level standards. English II declined 10 percentage points to 57%, while U.S. History fell 9 points to 86%.
Among the district’s junior highs, all Algebra I students at McMillan and Burnett met grade-level standards for the second consecutive year. Cooper Junior High dipped 1 point but still posted a 99% rate of students meeting grade level.
“The Spring 2026 results reflect continued academic progress for Texas students,” the TEA said. “Statewide, the percentage of students meeting grade level increased across all EOC subject areas and student groups.”
