Closer to home, a variety of day trips offer enriching experiences without overnight travel. On April 16, participants can visit the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, which spans 120 acres and features 23 specialty gardens. History enthusiasts can step back in time on May 14 with a visit to the Welcome Center at Brown House. The day includes lunch downtown at Villa Vinci, followed by a docent-led tour highlighting Victorian-era life and exhibits celebrating America’s 250th birthday. This trip departs at 11 a.m. and costs $5. Moderate walking required. Bring money for lunch.
