A potential bond election and a more conservative budget outlook highlighted discussion during the Tuesday, March 24, Wylie City Council meeting, where officials also approved several upcoming events.
The meeting began with the recognition of several “Shining the Wylie Way” students.
Following the recognitions, council unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included a purchase agreement for EMS medical supplies in an annual amount of $130,000. Council also approved the 1st Lt. Robert F. Welch III Run for Our Heroes 5K/Walk, scheduled for April 25 at Olde City Park, and the annual Juneteenth Festival of Wylie, set for June 13 at the same location.
Council also considered a funding request from Hope for the Cities in an amount not to exceed $2,000. The item has appeared before council multiple times since a January work session and was previously tabled during the last regular meeting.
