Mayor, council incumbents file for reelection

All incumbents have filed for the Wylie City Council election scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, when voters will choose a mayor and City Council members for Place 5 and Place 6.

Candidate packets are available for pickup at the City Secretary’s Office, located at 300 Country Club Road, Building 100, in Wylie. The first day to file for a place on the ballot was Jan. 14, 2026. The filing period will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. Additional candidates may file before the deadline.

As of the most recent filing information, Mayor Matthew Porter has filed for reelection. Porter was first elected mayor in November 2020.

Sid Hoover has filed for reelection to Place 5, and Gino Mulliqi has filed for reelection to Place 6. Hoover and Mulliqi were both elected to their first terms in May 2023. Mulliqi currently serves as mayor pro tem.

The deadline to register to vote for the election is Thursday, April 2. Early voting will begin Monday, April 20, and continue through Tuesday, April 28. Election Day voting will take place Saturday, May 2.

Wylie is located in Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties. Voters are encouraged to confirm their county of residence before voting, as polling locations and early voting hours vary by county.

In Collin County, voting locations in Wylie include the Collin College Wylie Campus at the WSC Atrium 1, 391 Country Club Road, and the Wylie Community Park Center, Meeting Room East, 800 Thomas St. Collin County voters may also cast ballots at Sachse City Hall, 3815-B Sachse Road, in Sachse.

Dallas County voters may vote at the Rowlett Community Centre, 5300 Main St. in Rowlett, as well as the Rowlett Utility Customer Service Center, Conference Room, at 6602 Dalrock Road.

For Rockwall County, voting will be held at the Rockwall County Courthouse Annex, Multi-Purpose Room, Suite 160, located at 1101 E. Yellowjacket Lane in Rockwall.

Additional election details, including early voting hours and any updates to candidate filings, are available through the City of Wylie and the respective county elections offices.
