The city of McKinney said it has signed a Use and Lease Agreement for Houston-based Avelo Airlines to serve McKinney National Airport, TKI, after work is completed late next year on a $72 million infrastructure expansion.
The project involves a 46,600-sqare-foot passenger terminal with four aircraft gates and nearly 1,000 automobile parking spaces.
Groundbreaking occurred in July and the city said construction was on track.
The McKinney City Council approved a budget amendment Dec. 16 appropriating the remaining $7.4 million from the $22.4 million approved by the McKinney Economic Development Corporation for constructing support facilities for the new terminal in May 2025.
