Wylie City Council considered a proposal to extend wastewater services to an area outside the city limits, while also exploring a new sister city agreement aimed at strengthening international ties and cultural exchange during its latest meeting.
It convened for its latest regular meeting on Oct. 15. Early proceedings began with presentations and recognitions; Municipal Court Week, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, National Community Planning Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Following these recognitions, council moved on to its consent agenda, pulling an item that would replat existing lots on the Senior Medical Addition to create two commercial lots.
Mayor pro tem Gino Mulliqui said he had opposed approval of the two lots since the item appeared before council in February and he did not believe having one access between the lots and one drive-thru was the “right fit.”
Council ultimately voted 6-1 to approve the item and then voted unanimously to approve the remaining agenda items.

City council also deliberated its regular agenda, starting with a special use permit that would change the zoning of a 1.056-acre tract for a new fueling station, convenience store and drive-thru restaurant.
