Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, high school sports have been on hold.
March 12 marked the date the University Interscholastic League cancelled the high school boys basketball tournament and on April 17 the remainder of spring sports were terminated. Along with this, all practices and workouts were suspended.
However, the light at the end of the tunnel may be fast approaching. The UIL announced a new statement on June 8 that lifted past restrictions on team workouts.
