Area golfers play Texas Women’s Open

Three area golfers com­peted last week in the Texas Woman’s Open at Old Ameri­can Golf Course in The Colony and turned in performances near the top of the 119-member field.

Maddie McCrary of Wylie, who plays professionally on the Symetra Tour, finished sev­enth overall at one under par over three days. Sisters Libby and Meagan Winans of Rich­ardson finished as third low amateur and fifth low amateur, respectively.

The tourney featured 55 pro­fessionals and 64 amateurs.
