A life long dream came true for Braden Shewmake.

The 2016 Wylie East graduate was selected in the Major League Baseball draft.

“Having the opportunity to chase that dream is special,” Shewmake said in an interview with Texas A&M Athletics.

The former Texas A&M Aggie was selected in the first round at 21st overall by the Atlanta Braves in the first-year player draft.

“It’s an unbelievable honor to be picked that early, and by that organization,” Shewmake said in the interview.
