Wylie East girls cross country competes at regionals

The Lady Raider cross country team’s season ended Saturday at the Region II meet, where the East girls finished 10th overall (293 points).

The top four teams and top-10 individuals advance to the Nov. 12 state meet in Round Rock. Making it as teams were Prosper (51), Frisco Liberty (63), Frisco Wakeland (63) and Highland Park (118).

McKinney North’s London Culbreath (17:50.89) took the individual title, with the first Lady Raider to cross the finish line being Theresa Simmons (37th in 20:59.40).

The next four Wylie East runner to cross the line were Haylie Hadjiev (43rd in 21:12.56), Rebecca Spiegel (65th in 21:43.10), Clairece Lopez (90th in 22:34.81) and Sasha Elizondo (91st 22:35.31).
