NEVADA – The Braves rolled 11-0 over Dallas Wilmer-Hutchins in the Class 4A Region II bi-district round.

Community (11-6 overall, as of May 11) scored a run in the first inning, three in the second, five in the third and two in the fourth to close out with a run-rule victory.

Jacob Thomas connected for a double and Jessie Cowley hit a home run. As a team, the Braves totaled eight hits and had one error.

Connor Wiser picked up the decision, after going the distance, striking out eight, walking two and giving up just one hit.

Up next this week in area is District 9-4A champion and No. 6 state-ranked Argyle at Prosper High School.

Game 1 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and Game 2 is 7:30 p.m. Friday and if needed a third contest would be played noon Saturday.

The 2014 3A state runner up Eagles had a bye in the first round, since there wasn’t a 10-4A to compete against.
