Wylie Prep falls to Tioga 62-45

The Wylie Prep Patriots dropped a 62-45 decision to Tioga last Friday night, falling to 1-1 on the season. WPA will host its home opener 2 p.m. Saturday against the CHANT Chargers.

Jack Spittaleto led the defense with 12 tackles, while Landon Lipp had eight and Daryl Meeks added six. Also recording tackles were Dylan Boyd (five), Nico Ruiz and Grayson Adkins (four each) along with Zach McWhorter, Aaron Minton, Camron  and Gavyn Jarrett.

Offensively, the Patriots produced 308 total yards, with Jarrett rushing for 64 yards on eight carries, and Lipp gaining 42 on 11 attempts and scoring twice. Spitaletto had four carries for 26 yards and one touchdown. Jarrett also completed 11 passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns.

Spittaleto, Lipp and Brendan Dye each caught a touchdown pass.
