Hoppe to box in annual Guns & Hoses event

by | Sep 11, 2025 | Latest

Wylie Fire Rescue firefighter/paramedic Brett Hoppe will step into the ring this weekend at the 24th annual Guns & Hoses Boxing Tournament in Allen.

Originally from Tustin, California, Hoppe has served with Wylie Fire Rescue since October 2021. Known for his determination and commitment to his team, he brings the same intensity to boxing that he brings to the fireground.

The tournament, set for Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center, pits area police officers and firefighters against each other in an action-packed “battle of the badges.” Proceeds benefit families of fallen first responders.

Hoppe said he looks forward to representing his department and the firefighter brotherhood while supporting a cause that honors public safety personnel.
