Wylie City Council met Tuesday, Aug. 12 to address several agenda items, including setting public hearing dates for the city’s proposed property tax rate and fiscal year 2025-26 budget. Council was scheduled to consider a partnership with the Wylie Cemetery Association (WCA) for grounds maintenance.
Councilmembers reviewed Resolution No. 2025-15(R), which would accept the city’s proposed tax rate, as well as calculations for the no-new-revenue and voter approval rates. The resolution would also set a public hearing and vote on the proposed tax rate for 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Wylie Municipal Complex.
In addition, council set the date, time and location for a public hearing on the proposed city budget. The hearing will allow residents to provide input before final approval. The date and time will be published in the city’s official newspaper in accordance with state law.
