Players from the Wylie boys and girls soccer teams, as well as one coach from Wylie East, recently received recognition from the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.
Wylie senior forward Zach Alshali was named to the Class 6A all-state honorable-mention team, freshman goalkeeper Cristiano Reyna was a first-team, all-Region II-6A selection, and freshman forward Luke Montgomery landed on the all-region honorable-mention team.
The Lady Pirates had two players earned TASCO honors. Senior midfielder Taylor Kelly and junior forward Kennedy Butler were selected to the all-region second team.
Wylie East girls assistant coach Matt Tietjen was named the Region II-6A Assistant Coach of the Year.
