Raiders lose pitcher’s duel to Rowlett

Despite out-hitting Rowlett 6-5, the Wylie East baseball team manufactured one run in a 3-1 loss to the Eagles on Wednesday.

Andrew Garcia hit an RBI single with two outs in the top of the second to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.

Brandon Johnson accounted for two of Wylie East’s five hits.

Trent Jones took the loss despite allowing just one earned run over five innings with one strikeouts. Jaxon Yoda pitched a scoreless sixth.

Rowlett tied the score at 1-1 with an RBI single in the home half of the first, with a balk bringing in another Eagles run just moments later for a 2-1 Eagles advantage.

Wylie East fell to 9-2 in District 13-4A.
