The Wylie girls soccer team came out the aggressor and never looked back in earning a 5-1 win over Waco Midway in a Class 6A Division I area-round playoff game in Corsicana on Tuesday.
For the second straight match, a corner kick by Marlene Reyna got the Lady Pirates on the board, for a 1-0 lead.
Maci Hatzenbuehler posted a hat trick with assists by Kennedy Butler and Taylor Kelly, with her third goal being unassisted.
Butler rounded out the scoring with a goal off an accurate through ball by Hatzenbuehler.
The Lady Pirates will play Grand Oaks in the regional semifinals, set for 7 p.m. Friday at Birkelbach Stadium in Georgetown.
