Four days after the Wylie boys basketball team suffered its first District 9-6A loss, the Pirates bounced back Tuesday with one of its most dominant efforts of the season.

Wylie outscored North Garland in every quarter and four players finished in double figures in scoring, led by 13 points from senior Chase Hughes, in a 75-43 home win at the Montgomery Center.

The Pirates raced out to a 17-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and they continued to build on that advantage. Wylie created further separation in the second quarter, outscoring North Garland 24-11 over that span of play to take a 41-21 halftime lead. The Pirates led 57-34 at the end of the third quarter.

Darian Romano added 12 points in the victory, followed by 11 each from Camden Love and Theo Allen.

Wylie improved to 15-9 overall, 6-1 in district play.
