The Wylie Pirates boys basketball team turned in its second impressive District 9-6A win, earning a 76-49 victory over Naaman Forest last Friday at the Montgomery Center in an early matchup of undefeated district teams.
Wylie improved to 2-0 in district play and 9-6 overall, while the Rangers, who came into the game having won four straight, fell to 1-1 in district and 5-4 overall.
“We turned up the pressure, took some charges and played some good defense in the first half,” Wylie coach Stephen Pearce said. “We were able to pull away in the second half because we made some shots.”
Chase Hughes led all Wylie scorers with 16 points, Tre Pierce had 15 and Darian Romano added 11.
